This is it! my tweet of new things happening.
Unforgettable Malta, a WIP
1st part of my dedication, here goes Nikki is as beautiful as the country that she lives in/born from. (my English/bad grammar, some times fails my meaning)
2nd part
As beautiful on the inside as she is on the out, a rare varitey of person that Im am lucky to call my friend.
Below a blog (part one) of what happened in Malta.
photo below is the work shop, oj oj oj.
Heres my trail and error ART in a Hot beautiful country.
So here goes, simply my story was to do exactly what I do to a canvas
but on furniture.(1st layer at least I would)
Not just any piece of furniture but just to add the pressure, Victorian/Edwardian.
1st stop a lot of knit/crochet samples and a bulk portfolio of canvas and photo samples to show what it is exactly that I do.
I have never felt pressure like this, I'm used to working at my own pace and
without an audience.;-)
Local buses that sadly stop soon, unbelievably being replaced with the ugly Arriva UK buses;-(
My trail and error ART
Local beer.
The first attempt failed me(a feeling I'm not used to), in fact by the time I was finally calm I was still in the mist of a panic attack, I was soooooooo hot.
Workshop breif description.........setting the scene.
A beautiful huge space, pretty dam cool, that's the air in side the place and amazement of the working work shop that I was set free in. I could not believe the amount of antique furniture ready for restoration.
In the UK I should imagine the auction house owner would have thought he/she died and gone to heaven, if they had witnessed the storage place.
Any way the paint and my nerves failed me, it blotched.(I was physically hot unable to cool down) nerves and humidity!.
And at the time I really thought that the piece I was working on was a little more modern day!
This helped me, as if Id known it's age to begin I feel it would have hindered my nerves further.
As my technique didn't fail me the paint did, so that was something that I felt acceptable or though very embarrassingly.(A Unit to sand down;-()
That and the fact I was trying so hard.(how many chances do you get ) Instead of relaxing and going with my random/haphazard flow which is my usual mantra.
This trail part gave me confidence.
Added pressure........
I got a little shock later when explained to me....
What did I know about furniture? the chest had had the panels striped and the furniture sanded. So its was literally a white cube, but a Victorian/ Edwardian white cube.
A white canvas.
Lunch stop.
Here is step one, I show my mistake (paint blotch)
Post to follow of the finished fantastic piece(biased as I did it?, but I loved it)
Truly unforgettable......my art has taken me on many journeys and this is one that will stay forever.
I really am a very lucky person.
Dedication Paulo, for calming me down and chatting from one artist to another.
