Denim Jeans (knitted leg)

This is painted straight on to board the back of a broken frame, mixed acrylic and painted with different blues to get the denim effect.

Then I laid out a pair of jeans on the board,
(Donated for my art, thanks Danielle)
and sprayed around them, with pink spray paint.

Here you have a glimpse at a new project

Denim, I will be using for a few ideas that I have.

Everyone has a favourite pair! jeans that is........
Comfort
fashion
Classic
Flare

Cut off Shorts in my case!
(fav at the moment!)

We all have something denim we love. Daily fashion piece for most.

This isn't based on myself, but the denim in general. It's all around us and I love it.

To fill the jeans in, I have used tissue paper for texture a little collage and dabbed on acrylic blue and white.

I have wrapped it around the mannequin so you can see my progress, simple edging using a 3.5 hook.

Art With a Spanish feeling!

Textured Art so far(no knitting yet!)

This is a re-do two, scan down the posts and you'll see the beginning process, if you would like to
I have added two layers of tissue paper pink/purple

Then a layer of a blue washed paint denim seems to be a new theme.

Then I added black circles, totally wild and free formed painted them in the garden totally
inspired by the film Vicki and Christina in Barcelona

Yuan Antonio is gorgeous and I cant remember his real name but if he came up to my table and
asked if i would like to go on a plane trip with him YES would be the answer.

Barcelona it self and their art (as two of the three main characters are artists)

Inspiring my circles

Next step
Then white inner circles.
Then the red crayon/melted
Spanish feeling!!!!, I'm not sure but I like it.

Knitted Alien Art

It simply is my very own knitted art.

Chanteuse wool
Mixed Pinks, acrylics
Denim cotton blue
Gold acrylic
To name but a few of the yarn that I used to create this piece,
titled
Vogue Buttons.
Various hooks and stitches.
Teamed with attached little trinkets, such as beads and pearls.

Even a pink glitter skull, but you have to be up close to see this
.
(look closely at the bottom photo)

Free-form, hand made straight out of my head
, with me one different stitch always leads to another.

Alien in appearance, textures and layers that you just want to touch!

Another Alison Friday original;-)

Slow progress on my knitted Art front!

Whats new
This photo was taken up close so you can see I have crocheted side ways to join the looser knitted stitches, in the orange acrylic and I think it looks a little like an Octopus
again........
(octopus and crochet seem to have a close connection with me, no idea why?)

I have been edging in Blue ,Orange and Brown using a 3.5 hook so that's fiddly for me and taken a while but its mindless stitching, so easy Tv crcohet.
Crochet Wall Hanging/ Free-form piece
Picture that make it look pretty.........

But its not really interesting for me, hence the slow progress and the enthusiasm is slipping.

I still need to make a start on the other Alice projects,
The Hatter hat(knitted)

The rabbit canvas(mixed media)

And I'm still in the crayon and knitting imprint experimental stage, but for the moment I think that I'm more gripped by the Crocheted lettering Project.

Home Sweet....... being the next lettered project. I have the yarn I just need to begin.

Ps I also have been experimenting a little with blogger, I figured it was about time I really plugged into the blogging community.

But like all PC (computer and me related things)
I take little longer than most to be
confident and even more time to feel in control of what I'm doing;-)

Again slow progress, but watch this space. Determination should be my middle name unfortunately its Jane, but as an alternative to Jane?, determination would be a good suggestion.

Queen Amidala (Star Wars)

My Blythe Mabel wearing an out fit that Queen Amidala may have worn if she had been asked;-)
I just need to work on the hair and the look would be complete.

I think that my crochet textile has gone all Star War'szy I made a random textile sample, then I turned it into a Blythe dress.

I hope you will see what I thought, that it really is good enough for a Star Wars film.
I think that I really missed my market here, as I think that the film's are all very done;-(

So it can Just be a Queen Amidala tribute dress!

The sample is a fun project and I waste nothing in making the knits.
All the little odds and ends that I cut off's from my finished piece's, any gift ribbon, cottons I collect then I attach them all together.

I do this with a simple knot wind the ball as I go (more and more ends)
And then when its big enough to make something I knit or crochet the piece.

Totally random, very accidental but completely fun, as you never know how the finish will look.

Fluid Sculpture By Charlie Bucket

I
found this on the
http://www.glittyknittykitty.co.uk a blog I have a look at every now and then.
Thought it was really cool, such a good idea this on a huge scale would be just fantastic.
So I wanted to share it, hopefully the artist wont mind;-).
Enjoy

Easter knitted Weekend

My design inpsired by reading my old books.

Well the Easter break has been just lovely the sun shining on my patio
(my favourite place in this rented house)

Even my children have behaved,Rasmus and the Guinea pig too.

Yesterday I sat a read through some of my knit/crochet book collection.

You know that feeling, when there's a lot going on around you.
You just want to be half involved, half not!
so picture flicking always fun to fill this time.

also AKA Research!

Really inspirational, I have a big section and I'm an avid charity shop shopper/also a bargain if to be had on Amazon.

But I really think that the oldies are the goodies/the best.
Why do I think this?
The info, pictures, diagrams even the easy to make ideas.
I do like the modern spin, but it is getting a little samey.

I wont name names here, as knitting and crochet is my job(unpaid).
So I don't really want to offend any writers this early on in my career.

Knitted art
This is the knitted art that I am currently working on an earlier post showed that it was covered in pink and purple tissue paper.

I'm recycling, it was an old canvas. that I was not that taken with.

Here I have just washed the paint a real watered down white and blue acrylic mix. Just so I have a base for this experimental project.

Ovals and square and now circles(again)

I have finished the free-form multi colour crochet using all the different yarns at once. Now I plan to use this bright orange to high light the shapes that I want to stand out.
Well that's the plan.....................

Tissue Paper

This is a Re-do 2! think I should patient that name/I mean re-do that's been done but Re-do2 that's not...........
The original was a canvas that I painstakingly called Beaded and it took a long long time to hand stitch(sow) all those beads to the basque, that are now sitting under the pink, glued, tissue paper.

But like a lot of my things, Im either unhappy with the working(end resutls) or it was a WIP
Work in progress, just like my knitting.

So I'm working on it and it's a Wip!
Or im simply just recycling
So organic it hurts;-)

Art before art after

After
Art 2009
I have started by adding a layer of tissue paper and i'll take it from there;-)

Before
Art 2006 (I think)
Thing is when is art ever finished/isn't it always just a WIP (work in progress)

Fine art or a portrait it's done/completed when all the space is filled and you have successfully painted your still life/landscape.

But my textile art, layers upon layers! Collage, spray whatever added, who is to say it's ever finished.......... that is unless you are truly happy with its out come.

Watch this space
