A New Chair Project

This one is really vintage.......
Not one I found in a shed, but a friends family chair. That needed a new lease of life;-0
But I was worried to begin as this chair would carry so many memory's, but I guess it's time for some new ones.
Take a close look at the photo 1958(The Eight you'll have to trust me as it's blurred)
I'm repeating my earlier project of a knitted chair.

My Web Site re-build New for 2009

My web site only went up this year but it was two years almost in the process, 1st my brother and he couldn't do what I wanted, didn't have the time I guess, I shelved it!

Then a good friend, learnt how from a book!
No dream weaver all programming.
She did well, exactly how I wanted it, we fell at the final hurdle(couldn't get it up!) sounds frisky;-)
And than lucky my husband, whom had the ability all along to do it, but just no time! he helped. We got it finally up and running.

BUT
Now Dated and none of my new art and at some point of up grading my photography, he managed to loose my knitting!! big bugger, considering I'm a knitting for art hit, no knitting NOT good.

Now armed with Dream Weaver, some time and fresh eye's. New camera so new photo's, such an amazing difference. With each page he build, woooooo very exciting.
My mistake originally is that I wanted to show it all on the web page, from then to now! Too clouded, my blog
(One of my favourite new skills since Stockholm)

This Is all I need in the way of achieve, store, dates, days where I was going? what I was thinking!. Proof it's all my own handy work and that I am truly original.

The web site just needs to be clear current, with a little info about my achievements up to date
and that's it.
Here's to 2009! art wise, I'm open to all the new and fantastic opportunity's that come my way.
(Well Hopefully)

Cotton Doily

20krs(£2)
My tiny travelling free form project is now completed. It will be set in glue or eventually stitched to a canvas;-)

It certainly makes for an interesting textile sample.

Or one day if the Doily should ever make a come back sit on one of my many shelves, graced with my favourite trinket.
Made using a 3 and 4 mm hook, time and effort and lots of different stitches.

Knitted Kelsey NY

I have now high lighted all the knitted squares using both pastel and acrylic paint.

My Art Re Visited (2006/7)

The frame was originally my measurements as the project was "Skin and with in!" hence all the shades of colour.

But chicken wire/green fence mesh not the easiest to work with or mould. So she went a little Marilyn Monroe.

I made the sample squares and the then knitted the outer skin together, then I did things the difficult way I actually crocheted the Blood the insides whist it was attached to the frame.

As the inside part was a later idea and the skin was already attached to the frame.
(hard work)

I added the belt just to exaggerate the female form.
The bottom view the inside is probably my favourite part as it looks like a tropical flower, Interesting and again not what was intended.

Pastels and paint

Close up pictures of Kelsey New York, with this canvas I am going to use pastels and I will high light each of the knitted squares and then rub in the pastel so that it stays firm.
This is a flat canvas that is nearly ready to get framed. 60cm by 100 roughly
Canvas, various hand mixed acrylics and spray paint.

Something extra

When in doubt just correct what you think, originally In the making this triptych was called tropical as in fish.

The spray darkened the mood and unusually for me this project took on a for men only art, approach.
I think that they ended up a little comic book, hence there final title Marvel.

Of course women to are big fans of comic too, what am I thinking, I'm being very sexist!

I was unhappy with the yellow end edge ,only at the one end of each of the three the other yellow parts where fine by me.

The black spray paint seemed the run in a little and I have been looking at it for months thinking I had to fix it!
(You never have to rush in, unless you think necessary).

I covered it up and decided that grey would be better end colour.

The trick about not being precious with your art always works for me.
(nearly)

I must just enjoy fate.

Knitted Graffiti (well crocheted!)

Crocheted Graffiti
Is and part of This
Here is phase one of my knitted installation,
It could be compared to Tracey Emin in style, I would guess some might think.

(she used patch work material)
But I have used a patch work of crocheted acrylic coloured yarns and hand ,made letters.

Never actually owning the Art

I heard this analogy not sure where, I think on the radio? My memory is terrible lately, but It doesn't matter what/where the source came from I liked it.

They said that......
You will never own the art!, you will just admire it for a time(long time).

Now this looking at/and after the art could be a costly viewing.

But eventually It will be some one Else's to love and admire. To hang with love.

I really like the idea that the art will be here and admired for a very long time to come. My own finger print/identity given to what I love to do the most.

Pink splash

BTK Pink

The BTK is the band my hubbies in and its all very metal! blood and all. This week one of my trail pieces really ended up looking like a scene from Dexter, hence the Basement torture killings part and then the obvious need to add a little Pink.

Santa Lucia soon in Sweden and I kind of like the Juxtaposition of the blood splat/black against the little white statues;-)

Knitted Baby Chair Art

Here is a baby wooden chair that came free with the rented house that we currently live in. The garden had a fully furnished kids toy house with all old and battered furniture.
I sanded the wood(my son helped too) painted a white under coat then mixed a baby pink using red acrylic and white house paint, mixed.
Added brown spray paint, and their you go! chair art so far.

Royale

Part one
Part two
Part three
I'm on a roll again at the moment, it seems I'm painting anything/everything that's not nailed down.(Funny UK saying!)

Inspiration is a funny thing, it seems to hit at random times and then like a fast roller coaster I'm off;-) fast and no looking back.

And it's a strange coincidence but stress seems to be my best painting! So it's a good job that I have a lot of that lately as a life as a happy artist......I'm not sure where I'd be
