Banded

I have used elastic bands before but that was knitting and when I first leant to knit so I had no idea what I was doing really.
Which was OK at the time as I was making a wall hanging, well a five foot banner to be precise for an art project on my access course.

So no detail or pattern following was required, yes it was a little tough on the shoulder's as plastic does get heavy.

This time I have experimented more, did some test pieces to see how to join the bands as before I linked hole band. The problem with this was their was not a lot of stretch.
So this time I am cutting the band(breaking the round) then rejoining with a small knot.

I have moved on since the elastic banner, and this time I will make a dress or a structure. I will also make it in crochet, using various stitches and hook sizes.

Part one is above, so watch this space for part two.

New Art, florescent Pink Spray

I like the juxtaposition of my Ikea candles with my new piece!
Pink spray on grey background.
Finally found a spray paint shop and it sells every colour I have ever wanted;-)

I figures their must be one, as when I look at the street graffiti they always use such vivid colours.
Something I have not really been able to do using car spray. The one art centre in Stockholm sold some brighter colours. But at twice the price as the cars paint (so not!)

But Highlighter's St Ericsplan 64! A shop I had walked past and never realised was there.
How I heard?
When we recently moved, one of the guys asked what I use the spray for?
And had I been to Highlighters? not! So finally got around to google it, as they say.
And the rest is history, no more car spray.

Iccle, Sweet Heart 2

Pale pink beads, paint splat.
Not wanting to experiment on the large "Sweet heart" that I feel I had completed it, but I really like the sweet heart/sweet pee colour scheme, I wanted to try another finish hence a mini me.
I repeated similar coloured acrylics and this time added beads, faint and slight, even a tiny butterfly I had sitting in my collection.

Cotton reel knitting/crochet

(Spray sample) Light weight knit good for travelling, constructed entirely of sewing cotton reels.
It’s constructed entirely of sewing cotton from their reels. It’s taken a while as I crocheted on 3 mm to 12mm in places. I have attached the used reels to the edge of the piece to hold out the sample over the canvas.

My reason is that this type of cottons seems to stick together as if static.
Vintage, the cream of the cottons is also very old as it was given to me second hand when my son was born so 16 years plus how ever long the original owner had it in her sowing box.

It made me wonder what the oldest yarn, save (craft thing) something you have kept to use in a project that you have not yet gotten around to use?
