Basque beading!(Or mass beading!!)

And yet more hours and I have not done a quarter let alone a half!

This is part one and believe me it took hour's and I ended up thinking why? why did I bother!, I like it but it's going to be alot of hours, to get the results I want. So it's yet another long work in progress, sore finger tips and a lot of knots but it will be worth it.

Snake skin

To create this effect for the acrylic paint underneath the spray. I used a house hold paint brush the large interior sort and with red, brown and orange acrylic I painted figure of eight swirls on the base and then I used black, White and silver spray paint over the top of a knits sample made of many different yarns.

Where am I?(What is my current project)

The close up of the green basque.
This is my second attempt at repeat and this time I used mint , metallic green in the colours of choice and to try some thing different I made it a textile by adding beads and sequins. Close up picture. To make the basque stencil, I used cereal boxes and this time I made it longer and thinner than the original.

This is a repeat of the original "Boudoir" I was really pleased with how similar yet how different it actually turned out. The pink palette seemed to have alot of interest.
The last few weeks have been busy, eventful and that's just the Christmas rush(not to mention Knitted by me!), so I am taking a break from new projects and concentrating on some commission work. I am not sure just how that will work out as I don't want to do prints and with my technique being so random, difficult!.
I was unsure how trying to re create similar prints (lets put it that way?,would work!) No pressure as I don't pay the mortgage and I think that if it's some thing that you have to do rather than some thing you Love to do makes all the difference in your end result. (Not that its rocket science!)
And I'm very lucky as it seems I Can do just what I like! And it's working and if not. Then I will just start all over again, (confidence) An excellent year 2007.
I'm confident with where I'm going and that cliff(I'm hanging on to, not falling off!) Into the unknown seems to be getting a set of stairs down the other side, and I will see just where it's going. No rush, no hurry just the way I like it. ;-)
The open art day that I hosted seemed to create interest in things that I had done and things that I wanted to do. So with my ideas and some things that people suggested
(good combinations of colour etc) I have plenty that I should maybe try.
(New eye's, always a good thing. As some time's we just don't see past our noises)
Also any interest, good or bad teamed with the positive feed back is an excellent new start for the new year.

So as always, watch this space!2008

Boudoir parts 2 & 3

Yet again but using a slightly different colour palette and stroke with a dry brush. Reminds me Of 80's pink wallpaper.
The boudoir attracted so much attention when I had my open house I figured I would try to make more with this technique and colour palette, I'm still not convinced that the pinks work but I will see, part one is the pink bass and then the feathering effect with a paint brush dry stroke.

HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS

Merry Christmas, I made this before I came to Sweden. I knitted it like a big scarf ,I added and I dropped stitches and tied alot of knots. Hanging it this years shows me how far my knitting skill have come. This has been a great year of achievement for me, and I welcome the new year.

Open house

Thur 29th Nov
My house
My very own gallery, my rented Swedish home turned into the Tate Modern
(Well my tiny version)
Open to the school mums who asked me, what it is I do each day! An invite for lunch and then a look at “My knitted alternative” that’s my art.
Success I’m famous in my own space, the day was a success and 14 people attended and the feed back was great, I really was speechless
(I my terms that means the opposite!, I waffled like an idiot as praise is a hard thing to accept)
I have faith in my self and I know my comfort zone and breaking out in to the wicked wild world is very daunting, but I had an excellent start.
Interest, commissions and people thinking that I have a good saleable idea; my dream is fast becoming reality.
14 guests from 18 invited not a bad turn out.:-)
